FPCP 2018 is jointly organized by IIT Hyderabad and University of Hyderabad.

The venue of the Conference will be the University of Hyderabad Campus.

Social Events

Cultural program (July 15, Sunday 18:45 to 19:45 hrs).

Excursion to Golconda Fort (July 16, Monday 15:30 to 18:30 hrs).

Conference dinner (July 17, Tuesday 19:30 to 22:30 hrs).

Location

The University of Hyderabad (otherwise is also known as UoH or HCU) is located in the western suburb of Hyderabad. Hyderabad is one of the metro cities in India and also IT Hub. It is conveniently connected by air to other cities in India and rest of the world. The picturesque campus of UoH is located in the financial district area and has well-equipped conference and lecture halls.

Visa

Valid visa is required to enter India for all nationalities. Visa can be obtained from the nearest Indian Consulate/ Embassy to you. Upon registration, a letter of invitation will be sent to you that may be used for VISA application. Please let us know by email if you face any difficulty in the application process.  Also please note that for participants from outside India we request you to complete the registration as early possible so that the visa can be obtained in time (Moreover, as organizers, we need to know your passport details by the early registration deadline so that we can place the request for visa clearance)

Currency

Indian currency is in Rupees (₹) and the current (Jan 2018) exchange rate is approximately ₹ 65 = US $1.

Banks and Shops

Banks are generally open from 10:00 to 14:00 hrs., Monday to Saturday. Some of the international banks are open till 18:00 hrs. One national bank is located inside the University Campus. There are plentiful of ATM machines scattered throughout the city that remain open 24 hrs.

Shops are generally open from 10:00 to 20:30 hrs. Monday to Saturday. Some shops are also open on Sundays. Major shops accept most international credit cards.

Airport

The Airport (both International and Domestic) of Hyderabad is at Shamsabad, known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), which is about 35 kms from the venue of the Conference. Pre-paid taxi can be obtained inside the Airport before the exit point (fixed fare) and radio taxi service (in the ground level of the Airport) is also available (approximate fare ₹850 from Airport to Venue/ Hotels). We expect the delegates to take either prepaid taxi from the airport or arrange for pick-up from the respective hotels. In case someone is arriving very late in night (between mid-night till 5 AM) or feels uncomfortable traveling in the prepaid taxi, we can arrange for pickup upon prior request. Railway

Secunderabad Junction and Hyderabad Deccan are the railways stations on south central railways are about 25 kms away. Taxi service is available from both these stations throughout the day and night. Approx. fare from both the stations to the venue or Hotel is around ₹ 500 or so.

Weather

The temperatures could be between 20-30°C during the Conference period. One can expect rain during this period as Monsoon sets in the region around middle of June every year.  

Local Transport

Hyderabad city is well connected by a network of metro, bus, rail and taxi services. The taxi service can cost Rs. 10-15  per km depending upon the time of travel.
